Joseph R. Joy, III has been practicing successfully for the past 24 years. A native of Morgan City, he attended Mississippi State University. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he attended Loyola University Law School on scholarship, successfully completing his Juris Doctorate in 1975.

Joseph Joy is licensed to practice law before all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana. He has served as an officer in the Lafayette Trial Lawyers Association. Joseph Joy knows first-hand the devastating accidents that can happen on offshore oil platforms and the effect such accidents can have on both the victim and the victim's family.

Joseph worked as a technician on various fixed offshore platforms and land wells during his summer months in high school, college, and law school. He also spent summer months as a deckhand aboard a 160-foot offshore supply boat and worked as a wireline helper, installing and removing downhole equipment and tools.

A native of Morgan City, he attended Mississippi State University on a Southeastern Conference Football Scholarship.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he attended Loyola University Law School on scholarship and received his Juris Doctorate in 1975.

Joseph Joy is licensed to practice law in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana. He has served as an officer in the Lafayette Trial Lawyers Association and on the President's Advisory Council for the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association.

It was his honor to serve on the nationwide committees for both the Dalkon Shield and General Motors "X" car litigation groups.

Joseph is married to the former Jane Edwards of Opelousas, Louisiana. They are the parents of four children.

Mr. Joy's success in handling and trying lawsuits includes cases within the jurisdiction of the State of Louisiana, as well as cases within the jurisdiction of other states.

Mr. Joy has recently been inducted as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum Mr. Joy has been successful in handling judge and jury trials for medical malpractice victims, offshore and maritime workers, divers, product liability cases, and toxic chemical injuries.
